The next day, at the crack of dawn, I couldn’t just teleport back home so I camped out just like everyone else.
Unlike the other knights, I had a personal magic camping setup a 10sqm tent with a full bed, shower, toilet.
This was the same tent used by the knight commanders Galahad-san and Guilford-san.
Having to share rooms with the knight commanders would have probably been uncomfortable and stressful.
The knights of Valkyra Kingdom seemed a bit stunned upon seeing how a small box could turn into a spacious and very livable camp.
Knights begin their day early.
I could sense Galahad-san approaching.
「Iruma-dono, we would like to discuss today’s expedition.」
「I understand. I’ll be right there.」」
While I basked in the morning sun and stretching, I turned around to see Galahad-san inviting me for the meeting.
If it had just been the Sanctuary Knights, we would normally just split into teams and dive right in like usual, but even though the Valkyra Knights consisted of fighting classes, there was still the power-leveling aspect to consider, so we needed to discuss team composition and how to provide support.
Inside the tent set up as our temporary headquarters, we had to discuss how the teams would be divided and who would support which team.
「Eh, Galahad-san, you’re also going to dive in?」
「Yes. Though level isn’t everything, compared to Iruma-dono or Sophia-dono, my level is not quite reliable yet.」
「Father, incidentally, what is your level at this moment?」
「Secret.」
「Father!?」
Galahad-san, who I thought would take charge of the headquarters, said he would join as a support while also leveling up.
Guilford-san asked Galahad-san, who wasn’t confident of his level in comparison to Sophia’s and my level, what his level is at now, but that ended with a singular word, secret.
Asking for someone’s level certainly was a faux pas, but they’re father and son, aren’t they?
Also, despite Sophia and I, as well as my family not disclosing our levels, Galahad-san could still gauge our level thanks to his many years of experience.
「Then who will stay behind to take care of the headquarters? Heath-san?」
「No, Heath and Bogah are part of the exploration. We can’t exclude Lyle from scouting. Which means, Iruma-dono, I’m counting on you.」
「So me, huh…… Understood. Leave the care of the wounded upon return and meal preparations to me.」
「Ohh! As expected of you, Iruma-dono.」
Saying so, Galahad-san patted my back roughly. He’ll probably go dungeon exploring immediately.
「Please excuse my father, Iruma-dono.」
「N, not at all, Galahad-san was also rejuvenated when his level raised, so he has a lot of energy.」
「I see. I thought I had finally caught up to Father, but…… father’s back seems so far away.」
「……sorry.」
Guilford seemed to have complicated feelings towards the now spry Galahad-san when compared to his time as the Commander of the Imperial Guard.
Galahad-san and Guilford-san finished checking their equipment and belongings and headed into the dungeon.
i heard from Galahad-san that the dungeon attack today was going to last three days two nights. Of course, yesterday night didn’t count.
We’ve come all the way to the Demon Continent’s dungeons, so we want to the Valkyra Kingdom’s knights to experience as many things as they could.
Normally, staying in a dungeon for two knights requires a considerable amount of baggage. One would normally have to carry magic stones and materials from defeated monsters too, so porters would also be hired.
However, Valkyra Kingdom’s knights only had to bring their own equipment and bare necessities.
Naturally this was because the Sanctuary Knights were not only equipped with storage-type magic accessories, but each team was also provided with a large capacity Magic Bag for the knights’ expeditions.
Rations, water, tents with monster repelling barriers, and other camp necessities were all inside one bag, so it would be fine whether it’s two days, ten days, or twenty days.
When this was explained, Guilford-san and the rest of Valkyra Kingdom’s knights’ faces grew stiff, but in a dungeon where one’s life is at risk, no one was reckless enough to want to carry a heavy load.
The supports today were Heath-san and the Fire Spirit Knights.
Since Dan, Madd, and Bill were of noble origin, they were acquainted with some of the knights from Valkyra Kingdom’s side, so it was perfect.
After a short while, the knights entered the dungeon one after the other.
I had asked Kaede to thin out the irregularly strong monsters, so there shouldn’t be any casualties.
Now then, I guess I’ve got some free time.
I wonder, can I go home for a bit?
