The Knight Captain is?
It’s been decided that we would scout the 『Lion’s Fang』 for the role of assistant to the captain.
With Heath-san, if he gets several years of practical experience in the knight order, he would probably qualify as one in the future.

As Barack-san and Hans-san had said, neither a complete novice nor a knight without any leadership experience would not suffice for the role of knight captain.
「A candidate must a certain level of practical experience, furthermore they must have led their subordinates, with a track record of training them……」
「Exactly. A competent person like that is probably in line to be the next knight captain, right?」
「Right?」
Someone qualified to become the Knight Captain would probably not be let go by their organization.
「Shall we make contact with Heath-san and the others first?」
「Indeed. For the second life of a veteran adventurer, moving to the Sanctuary sounds wonderful, don’t you think?」
「Understood. Let’s do that then. Are Heath-san and the others in Volton right now?」
「I wonder about that. Hans, you know?」
「Please wait a moment. I’ll check immediately.」
Saying so, Hans-san left the conference room momentarily.
「So, a knight captain, huh~ The person I know personally is that Dorn, but Lord Volton would be troubled without that guy.」
「By Dorn, do you mean Volton Knight Comander Dorn-san? That’s definitely not possible.」
「Well, that’s true. But he meets the criteria for knight captain right? Dorn in particular could even be the leader of the knight order.」

The moment the talks ended, Barack-san approached my daughters.
Perhaps because they were my daughters, they didn’t get scared by Barack-san’s scary face, so he played with them until Hans-san pulled him away for work.
Etoile, Haruka, and Flora played a lot, so they were now sleepy and were now asleep being carried by the maids.
「Okay, see you again tomorrow.」
「Yeah, sorry about that, Takumi-kun.」
「Not at all, my girls seemed to have enjoyed playing with Barack-san. So much so that I should be thanking you.」
On our way back to the Volton mansion from the guild, Hans-san apologized. Barack-san played with the girls, so he kept us there for quite a bit longer.
When we left the conference room, the number of adventurers at the first floor reception was starting to increase, but as expected of the Volton Adventurers Guild, no adventurers bothered us.
At 3pm the next day, only Sophia and I went to the Adventurers Guild.
Maria, Marnie, and our children had already returned to the Sanctuary.
「Ou! It’s been a while, Takumi!」
「You look well.」
「……yo.」
「So we’re the last to arrive? Lyle-san, you’re as casual as always. Heath-san, Bogah-san, long time no see.」
Barack-san, Hans-san, and the members of the Lion’s Fang were already in the conference room.
「I caught Heath and the others up.」
「Yes, we’ve explained it in detail.」
「Thank you.」
Barack-san and Hans-san had already talked about the knight order.
「Takumi, I gratefully accept the offer regarding the knight order.」
「Really!?」
「Yeah, I was originally considering moving to the Sanctuary. I was thinking maybe I could continue adventuring from there, but I thought, protecting the Sanctuary as a knight wouldn’t be such a bad idea either.」
「……family would be happy too」
「Well, that’s what those two say. I’ve decided to go with them. I’m worried just Heath and Bogah would be undependable.」

It seems I wasn’t the only one who thought Lyle-san was the biggest source of worry. Heath-san and Bogah-san’s icy stares pierced right through.
Lyle-san didn’t seem to notice though.
Yup, that’s Lyle-san. Would he really be alright as a knight?
