Fluna and Berkut

Fluna’s armor was something that Laeva and I created quite satisfactorily.

The shape changing armor in particular was a necessity to Fluna-san, so it was absolutely essential that we finished it no matter what.

After all, Fluna-san was a mermaid.

Underwater, her lower body transforms into a fish tail.

There would have been no problem if that condition was constant, but once she gets out of the water and comes up to land, her lower fish half turns into human lower parts, and areas that shouldn’t be seen would be fully exposed.

we installed magic crystals onto her weaponsー the knife and the sickle spearー to strengthen the Water attribute which was the Mermaids’ racial attribute.

Then Kaede and I went into a dungeon with Fluna-san and Berkut.

We were entering a highly difficult dungeon.

「Takumi-sama, Fluna-san’s armor is really pretty, could you please make me a pretty one too~」
「No, it would be really bad if you were in a miniskirt. Your underwear would show if you fly into the sky.」
「In that case, I can just wear spats like Fluna-san does, can’t I?!」

Berkut saw Fluna-san’s armor and said she wanted a cute design for herself too.
I didn’t think that armor needed to be cute though.

It was then that Berkut said that it should be fine as long as she wore spats, but to me, even if she wore spats underneath her miniskirt, it was still too much if she were to fly around with her skirt exposed.

「U-umm, Takumi-sama.」
「Hm? What’s the matter, Fluna-san?」
「U-umm, you address Berkut-san without honorifics, but you add -san to me? Would it be possible for you to call me simply by Fluna as well?」
「Eh? Umm, is that fine?」
「Yes!」

I treated Berkut like a disciple ever since I first met her, so I dropped honorifics with her before I realized it, but when I first met Fluna-san, she was someone I had to shelter. Maybe that’s why I felt like I had to keep her at a distance.

「Yes!」

「Thank you! Berkut-san, please drop honorifics with me too please.」
「Okay Fluna, call me Berkut too.」

Fluna and Berkut held hands and smiled warmly, but…… we’re inside a dungeon……

Unlike the two who had no feeling of tension, Kaede, who had been in charge of searching for enemies, began talking to me.

「Master, Kaede will lure the monsters, okay~」
「Please do.」

Kaede said that then ran towards a passageway in the dungeon without making a sound.

Since there were no monsters within my detection range, I asked Kaede to handle it.

This dungeon was one of the many high level dungeons in the Demon Continent, and it had very few large monsters like Dragon-types, but it did have a lot of monsters that would serve as training for Fluna’s combat skills.
It was the type of dungeon that descends and had a fairly typical structure with large rooms, small rooms, and tunnel pathways.

There’s a few grassland-type levels interposed between the floors but there wasn’t much pattern to it.

I sensed the presence of Kaede and the lured monsters coming from the front.

「Fluna, Berkut, prepare for battle!」
「「Yes!」」

We saw Kaede coming.

「Master, three Orc Generals!」
「Thanks Kaede! Deal with them!」
「Okay!」

When Kaede reached us, she turned around.

I could hear the rough, uneven snorting of the approaching Orc Generals who was one size larger than normal orcs.

「Then after Kaede deals with one of them, the rest will be up to you, okay~!」

The moment after Kaede said so, the Orc General at the very back suddenly turned into a pile of meat.

「They’re coming! Ready your spears! Now!」

Given her experience, Berkut smoothly stabbed the throat of the Orc General using her spear. Meanwhile, Fluna was nervous enough that her movements were stiff, but she stabbed the Orc General’s throat.

Berkut didn’t have any help, but Fluna was supported by Kaede’s threads.
