The day after we finished making the skis, snowboards, and ice skates, I climbed up the snow hill.

I made new snow fall from the top.
Because of everyone playing yesterday, the snow was packed in and the surface hardened.

I then built a a single tower at the top of the hill.

The metal tower pierced through the snow and into the ground, so it would still stand strong even with the snow hill gone.
It was 30cm in diameter, but it was incredibly solid.

I then prepared a long rope.

I installed a long rail or a guard bar from the tower to the foot of the hill.

Yes, instead of a lift, this contraption can pull people to the top when they grab the rope.

「No, wait. Maybe this is too hard for the kids.」

With skis and snowboards, it would be easy to ride these, but it might be difficult for children who play on sleds.

「As I thought, it’s more work but maybe I should go with the lift?」

Since it’d be removed by springtime anyway, I was going to make something simple, but it wouldn’t be good to compromise for the children’s sake.

I immediately changed the rope to a wire.

I set up a support tower that would act as the fulcrum at the foot of the hill,

All that’s left to do is add benches to the wire, install a magic device to power it, and as a precautionary measure to stop all activity if danger is detected, a golem with a simple AI to control the power component.

With this, even if a child failed to ride the lift, it would stop immediately.

The moment I finished the lift, I heard a voice behind me.

「I was wondering what you’ve been doing since the morning, that’s quite the construction project you have going on. This is only for winter, isn’t it?」
「Ah, Sylph? That’s right, it’s only for winter, but it’s very taxing climbing every time, right? I could teleport to the top myself, but that’s hardly any fun.」

The only ones whose presence I could not sense until they spoke up was the Great Spirits, and the one who did was Sylph.

And there was one other person there, Undine.

「Hey, should I handle the maintenance of the ice?」
「Ah, can I ask you to? I think it’s fine since it was just from yesterday, but if you could, for now.」
「Very well. In exchange, hand over my ice skates.」
「Yeah, I can do that much.」
「Ah, in that case, me too.」
「Yes, yes.」

When I handed Undine her ice skates, Sylph, expectedly, wanted a pair for herself too.

「Well then, let’s try ice skating.」
「Indeed, we will be the first ones.」

Carrying their ice skates, Undine and Sylph headed towards the skating rink.

「Alright, time to test it out too.」

I took out the skis, stocks, and ski boots out of my Item Box.

「Ohh, wearing ski boots that fits perfectly feels weird.」

I’m not wearing skiwear, so my clothes will get wet if I fell, but I’m just testing it out for a bit, so it should be alright.

I suppose I should at least wear gloves.

I stepped into the ski bindings with my boot and heard a click as it locked onto the ski. I did the same with my other foot.

I tried pressing my foot down to get a feel for the skis.

「Hm, its flex is just right.」

The ski was a type of carving skis[1. AKA Parabolic skis], which I had never used before.

Carving skis were wider on the tip and tail, with a narrow middle section.

I remember they were developed to make it possible for even regular skiers to carve turns.

Back when I used to ski, carving skis weren’t even invented yet. But since I’m making one anyway, I may as well try carving skis.

I skated towards the lift.

「Move the lift for me.」

When I called out to the lift-controlling golem, the lift began to move. The course wasn’t very long, so I reached the top in no time.

「Now then, let’s see if my body still remembers.」

Well, strictly speaking, it wasn’t this body though.

I vigorously pushed off with the stokes to slide down.

I tried carving turns, digging in the edges.

「Ooh, it’s easy making sharp turns. Maybe this is a benefit of my Body Control skill?」

This snowy hill was made for sledding with the children, so it’s gentle and has no bumps. It has a moderate slope, so it might be easy to someone experienced, but it’s still fun.

Before I knew it, I was already at the base of the hill.

「As expected, it’s over just like that.」

After all, the course was only 500 meters in a straight line. On skis, it was inevitable that it would be over in the blink of an eye.

「One more run?」

It’s just been so long that it’s so fun.
The snow had been topped off just this morning, so it was powdered snow.

It couldn’t be helped that I was scolded by Maribelle for going skiing without having breakfast.
