Nostalgic Reunion

「Ahh, what a blunder. My knights are all Humans or Beastkin who have just become adults or aren’t even of age yet.」
「That’s right. My Fluna is a special case, after all.」
「So, got any ideas, Takumi?」
「No, I called you all here to talk to you all about this.」
At his wits end, Salamander groaned, and Undine spoke of how the Mermaids were a special case, as Fluna had become the leader of the Mermaids at such a young age.
When Sylph looked for answers from me, I said that this meeting was precisely for that reason.
It was then that Maria suggested someone we knew very well.
「Takumi-sama, how about Heath-san? His character and abilities leave nothing for criticism.」
「Heath-san, huh…… but Heath-san is an adventurer.」
「That’s right. I believe it would be difficult to go immediately from adventurer to knight captain.」

I thought Maria suggesting Heath-san was a great idea, but it would be too challenging to make Heath-san, who had been an adventurer ever since he became an adult, a knight captain.

「Then should we take Etoile, Flora, and Haruka with us to Volton?」
「……unlike the Sanctuary, I do have some concerns, but I believe it would be right to take Dan and the two others with us as escorts. If we entrust Etoile and thee children to the maids, and count Maria, Marnie, and I as fighting potential, we should be fine if something unexpected were to happen.」
「Kaede’s here too!」
「That’s true. I feel like Kaede could even manage alone, but let’s take Dan and the others for experience in protecting important people.」
I wanted to show my daughters to Barack-san too, so we decided to go to Volton with a slightly larger group.
Barack-san, huh ……it reminds me of my days training under him.
Back then, I almost forgot I had a creation-type job because I was so immersed in the training. I learned hand to hand combat under Barack-san in the Adventurers Guild, while learning swordsmanship and spearsmanship under the Volton Knights.
The next day, after teleporting to the Volton mansion, we headed to the Adventurers Guild.
My daughters were carried by maids, with Sophia, Maria, and Marnie beside them. Kaede was humming while walking in front. It felt like she was taking the lead for us.
Dan, Madd, and Bill of the Fire Spirit Knights were wearing silvery mithril armor with red hemming, and had shields on their backs and one-handed swords to their hips.
They seemed a bit nervous, given how this was their first escort mission.
Although I would occasionally visit the Volton mansion, I never really went outside, so walking down the streets of Volton had me feeling nostalgic.
After leaving Bohd Village through Mr Papeck-san’s assistance, I met Sophia and Maria, and my companions gradually increased.
It left me feeling quite emotional.
In the meantime, the Adventurers Guild building came into view.
I couldn’t help break into a smile.
When I entered the Adventurers Guild, probably because of the time of day, there weren’t that many people.
It was then that I heard a nostalgic voice.
「Ou! Isn’t that a sight for sore eyes!」
「Barack-san, long time no see.」
A face that could make a child cry was smiling back at me.
