Romance Weapons

It’s great that the Holy Sword Vajra and Holy Sword Fudou were complete, but since I’ve always used swords as well as the spear as my main weapons, I thought about making something a bit different.

The spear I mainly used was the Ice Bringer.
As for swords, I had the Demon Sword Tsukiyomi, Holy Sword Vajra, and Holy Sword Fudou, three in total.

I have enough swords and spears.

That’s why I thought I’d play around a bit.

Yes, I was supposed to do it for a little bit, but……

Looking at the weapons before her eyes, Sophia tilted her head. Marnie wondered if they were for farm work. Akane seemed to have some understanding though.

「Umm, is that a scythe?」
「…………」
「This isn’t for harvesting, is it?」
「Ha, haha, I guess it doesn’t come across as the grim reaper’s scythe?」
「Who would even use a Death Scythe? Wouldn’t a normal spear be easier to use?」

Sounds about right. The Death Scythe was a romance weapon, but it was heavy, had poor balance, and it was difficult to handle, so there was no one who raised their hand wanting to use it.

「This isn’t for us.」
「Perhaps it would work if it was Titan.」

I pulled myself together and the next thing I showed them was a gauntlet integrated with a Pile Bunker.
Sophia and Maria immediately shook their heads and said that could also be used by Titan.

「As I thought, Titan, huh?」
「Since one wouldn’t want to lose balance from the recoil from bunking the pile in, I believe only Titan could use it.」

With exception to Titan, our entire party’s fighting style focused on evasion. Even Sophia, who had a shield, used it to parry attacks in the flow of battle.

I don’t know if Titan would be pleased to use it though.

A giant wrench with a lever by the grip to move the wrench.

Lulu-chan swung it around, but as expected, it had horrible balance.

「Is this a metal whip?」
「It’s a chain whip. I also tried making a chain mace.」

The thin metal rods were conjoined, and a weighted tip was attacked to increase the striking force or in some cases, a dart.

「This is…… difficult to handle, but it’s useable.」
「Indeed. It requires much practice, but it will likely help improve our skills.」

Sophia tested out the chain whip, and Maria tried out the chain mace which was easier to handle.

It’s extremely terrifying how will the whip-like weapons suited Sophia.

「Like the chain mace, I also made a tri-segment staff.」
「Ah, i can imagine how to use this more easily.」

I handed the Tri-Segment Staff to Maria who was trying out the chain mace.
Upon accepting the Tri-Segment Staff, Maria began swinging it around and practiced to try to get used to it.

Perhaps thanks to her Taijutsu Skill, or perhaps affected by her Spear Handling Skill, Maria could freely manipulate the Tri-Segment Staff.

For a while, Sophia and Maria practiced their weapons of choice, then they returned it looking satisfied.

「I will try something else because this overlaps with my spear.」

Sophia seemed to like the chain whip. She already had it coiled up and hanging on her hip.
Maria wanted to try a different weapon because it was too similar to her spear.

「Is that a dagger attached to a rope?」
「Yeah, it’s a rope dart. That rope was mithril alloy processed into fibers, which was weaved together with Kaede’s threads to make it, so it can’t be cut so simply.」

Marnie showed interest in the Rope Dart.

This weapon has a dart-shaped spearhead attached to a long rope and was hard to handle, with Marnie’s high skill level and proficiency with daggers, it could serve as a weapon against mid-range enemies.

「May I use it?」
「Of course, I made these for everyone to use.」

Marnie took the rope dart and went off to practice.

Both Sophia’s chain whip and Marnie’s rope dart needed ample space for practice.

「I’ll have to think of another weapon that doesn’t overlap with the spear for Maria.」
「Thank you very much. I’m excited to see what you’ll do.」

Now then, I have to think of something for Maria and the expectant Lulu-chan.

Incidentally, Akane was practicing to use an iron fan for self defense.
Of course, the ribbed fan wasn’t made of iron but rather cloth woven from mithril alloy and Kaede’s durable silk.

And Laeva said she was making her own weapon.
I completely understand how she feels as a craftsman myself, so I didn’t say anything. I’ll be here if she ever wants a consultation, though.
